The SEVIS fee is US$350, paid before the interview

The I-901 SEVIS fee is US$350 for F and M students with an I-20, and US$220 for most J exchange visitors with a DS-2019; without it there is no interview.

It is paid only at fmjfee.com, not at the AIT counter, and dependents of F, J and M applicants do not pay it. A visa issuance reciprocity fee depends on nationality, and under the current reciprocity schedule Taiwan passport holders applying for F or M do not pay one. All of this is separate from the visa application fee and from each school's application and score-report fees.
